       As the main energy of industrial production in China, coal mine has an incomparable position with other energy sources. The safety production of coal mine has been put in the first place of coal mine production. With the continuous mining and extension of the mine, the goaf has become one of the important dangerous sources in the coal mine. Especially once the goaf is ignited, it is impossible to detect and locate the ignition point, which brings difficulties to rescue and even causes gas and coal dust explosion. Therefore, the safety monitoring in goaf is of great significance to reduce the loss of life and property.

In order to solve the problem of goaf safety monitoring, our company develops a mine DTS, which monitors the temperature of goaf to prevent the natural phenomenon when the temperature rises. Through the distributed temperature measurement technology, real-time monitoring of the temperature change of the residual coal in the goaf, when the temperature is abnormal, the system will give an alarm and assist manual control, which can prevent the natural occurrence of coal and greatly reduce its probability.
System Principle
         The distributed optical fiber temperature measurement system (DTS) detects the temperature changes along the different positions of the fiber according to the optical time-domain reflection of the optical fiber and the temperature effect of Raman scattering in the fiber, so as to realize the real distributed measurement. In the system, the optical fiber is not only a transmission medium but also a sensing medium. The temperature field of each point in the space where the optical fiber is located modulates the intensity of Raman scattering light in the optical fiber. The space temperature information is collected by wavelength division multiplexer and photoelectric detector, and then the temperature information is extracted from the noise in real time after the system is demodulated. The temperature point is located by using the propagation velocity of light wave and the time interval of back light echo.
